Lollartron Traditional
Lollartron™ Traditional Vintage — Filter'Tron Mount
Using a particularly magical ‘63 Gretsch® Country Gentleman® as the tonal reference, the Vintage set uses Alnico 2 magnets and has the clarity and punch players expect from a classic Filter’Tron with the treble strings delivering high frequencies that are focused on the fundamental of the note, resulting in a fat, full tone that won’t get muddy.
Avg. DC: Neck 5.2k, Bridge 6.2k
Lollartron™ Traditional Mod—Filter'Tron Mount
Compared to the Vintage set which uses Alnico 2 magnets, the Mod set uses Alnico 5 magnets and is spankier and punchier—but never gets brittle or spiky. The tone is glassy and chimey; typical of an early rock ‘n roll sound.
Avg. DC: Neck 4.5k, Bridge 5.4k
Pickup Mounting Options: To choose the correct pickup mounting option for your particular guitar, see information further down the page.: "Ring/Pickguard Mount," which hangs from a bezel or pickguard like a traditional humbucker pickup; "Original Mount," for early Gretsch guitars; or "Body Mount," as used on Fender's Carbronita.
Mounting Options
for Lollartron Traditional Pickups
Option A
For mounting pickups directly onto the center block of a Gretsch® semi-hollowbody guitar.
Choose this option if the ring around your existing pickup has no pickup mounting holes AND the baseplate of your pickup extends beyond the pickup cover.
NOTE: We recommend that you remove your guitar’s ring to determine if your baseplate extends beyond the pickup cover.
Option B
For mounting pickups directly onto solidbody guitars, like the Fender® Cabronita.
Choose this option if the baseplate of your existing pickup does not extend beyond the pickup cover AND either a) there is no ring around your existing pickup OR, b) you have a ring without pickup mounting holes.
NOTE: We recommend that you remove your guitar’s ring to confirm the baseplate does not extend beyond the pickup cover.
Option C
For hanging from a guitar’s plastic mounting ring or pickguard.
Ring Mounting: The ring around your existing pickup should have either 2 or 3 pickup mounting holes, like those shown to the right. Mounting hardware will be included with your pickup(s).
Pickguard Mounting: You may need to drill holes in your pickguard to align with the screw holes in the mounting hardware we provide.
